Overview

KidsCare Kenya is launching a new 3-year initiative in Lunga Lunga Sub-County, targeting 240 vulnerable households and over 1,200 orphans and vulnerable children (OVCs) across 16 rural communities.
This program builds on the success of two previously implemented Community-Based Homecare and Beekeeping (CBHB) programs, which saw over 90% of families exit with improved stability and self-reliance.

Lunga Lunga faces deep-rooted development challenges:
  • Limited economic opportunities
  • Inadequate access to education and healthcare
  • High school dropout and illiteracy rates
  • Environmental degradation and climate vulnerability
By addressing social, economic, and environmental gaps, this program aims to create lasting, community-led transformation — empowering households and improving child well-being, while restoring the natural environment for future generations.
It is implemented in strong partnership with the County and National Government, local leaders, and other specialized partners.
