Strengthening Child Protection in Lungalunga!

Over the past 2 and half years, the Child Protection (CP) Program has significantly improved child safety and awareness in Lungalunga. Child protection ratings rose notably, with children’s perception increasing from 4.1 to 6.2 and caregivers’ from 2.7 to 6.8.
Children and caregivers now had better understand child rights, though challenges like unethical practices persist. Community Child Protection Committees (CCPCs) actively raise awareness and extend support to neighboring villages, strengthening confidence in addressing child abuse.
School attendance has improved, and bullying and violence have decreased, though drug abuse remains a concern. Stakeholder collaboration has advanced, but stronger partnerships with law enforcement and government entities are needed.
Out of 240 volunteers, 179 remain active and motivated, though additional training in counseling, drug abuse prevention, and structured planning would enhance their impact. The CP Program has laid a solid foundation for continued progress in ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all children.
